Get Ready For Pirates of the Caribbean 4!

May 18, 2011

This Friday, May the 2oth, marks the release of Pirates of the Caribbean – On Stranger Tides, the fourth installment of the billion dollar film franchise. While the first film, The Back Pearl, was universally renowned, many criticized the second and third films for their over-use of computer-generated special effects. On Stranger Tides, is looking as though it may be the first ‘correct’ sequel, which is extremely exciting. To get ready for the film’s release, we’ve compiled this quick brush-up course on the films franchise.

The Ride That Started It All
It’s crazy to think that this groundbreaking Disneyland ride from the 1960’s paved the way to such an explosive blockbuster film, but it did.

Pirates of the Caribbean 1 Movie Trailer
The first, and best, film; skeleton pirates and the introduction of Jack Sparrow.

Pirates of the Caribbean 2 Movie Trailer
Davy Jones and a whole lot of CGI.

Pirates of  the Caribbean 3 Movie Trailer
Jack Sparrow stranded in the desert, with himself?

Pirates of the Caribbean 4 Movie Trailer
Time will tell if this film will be able to live up to the awesomeness of the first.

Once you’ve seen the film, let us know what you think!

This movie pales in comparison to the first. It is not as good as the second or third either. It is bad enough that I actually had to stop watching it and take a break. It just seems cheesy to the point of being stupid. There are a few scenes that make it watchable though. The mermaid scene is really cool and reminds me of the quality of the first movie alot.
